Academy of Creative Training (ACT)

As well as providing accredited training, ACT also provides a range of courses for established actors. Week-long summer courses change each year, and the ongoing Creative Playground is useful for those wishing to keep their skills fresh and try new techniques.


New Venture Theatre (NVT)

The NVT is an amateur theatre that provides low-cost workshops every Monday evening, at only £5 per session for non-members, and £2.50 for members. Workshop content varies and is often linked to the needs of the theatre’s current performance programme. Workshops are open to all levels of ability, from newcomers to experienced actors. Despite the amateur status, a lot of professional actors pass through the NVT, and many of them deliver workshops.


Working Towards Performance

This course is run by experienced actor and director Steven O’Shea and looks at the skills needed to best work towards a performance. Classes are run on a drop-in basis and are suitable for all levels of experience. Times and dates vary so please contact Steven directly for full details.

Brighton Puppetry School offer occasional puppetry courses designed for actors who wish to add to their skill-set.


Brighton Meisner

Running on Fridays from 10am-12pm, this drop-in costs £5 per session. Check the website for the venue details.
