New time-limited workshops announced

During the past few days we have been made aware of a number of a new workshops running over the next few weeks. We’ve decided to list them all below. Please contact the organisations or individuals concerned if you are interested in signing up for any of them.

Back to basics

Running on Saturdays from 10am-12pm at Cascade Coffee Shop on Baker Street, this course runs from October 4th to November 28th with Debbie Bridge heading up the classes.  Please contact Debbie Bridge at Debbie[at]debbiebridge.com for any further information or costs of this class.

A fool’s guide to playing

Billed as “Acting for Everyone” and running on six Saturdays from 12th September, Jonathan Brown of Something Underground Theatre Company runs these workshops for everyone from seasoned professionals to beginners.

A course in dance and performance for adults

Open to anyone with a desire to move and an interest in contemporary performance.  The sessions develop movement awareness, dance technique and performance skills, and lead to an informal performance at the end of the course. Run by Tamar Daly.

Mindfulness for singers

This workshop is for anyone who wants to learn how to use the skill of mindfulness combined with singing to breakthrough any negative self talk around your voice or performing.

An introduction to playwriting

The course offers an introduction to some of the skills and techniques needed to write for theatre, as well as insights into the new writing industry in the UK and the process of moving a play from the page to the stage. Lead by RADA graduate Frank McCabe, who is one of the BBC Writersroom 10 for 2014/15.
